Say hello to Beatlibrary Member, Zachkiel!
Zachkiel is a young genre bending artist from South London. He draws unique inspiration from his experience in Musical Theatre to tell deep stories in his music. Zachkiel very recently released an outstanding project titled ‘Performers Perspective’. Two Shots, Loverboy Interlude and BARS! have all been in our rotation since the release.
What inspired your direction for Performers Perspective?
I feel like people have fallen out of love with music and are mainly focusing on analytics and financial gain. As someone who loves music with my heart, I want to hit people with a nostalgic effect. I’m a new artist using both old school AND new school beats. I wanted to show my versatility as an artist.
Are there any risks you took creatively that put you outside of your comfort zone on this project?
A risk that put me outside my comfort zone was ‘Two Shots’ without a doubt! I enjoyed recording it, but condensing my rhythms, using more cheeky wordplay, and being more direct rather than interpretive was different for me. After building and building it up to the finished track, I couldn’t but just enjoy the energy the song brings to the project. 100% club banger!!!
As creatives it’s sometimes hard to let go of a project into the world. Have your feelings around the project shifted at all after putting out into the world?
Not in the slightest! I enjoyed the creative process of this EP and it shows the sounds that I want to break out into. I’ve been grateful without a doubt to see people’s reactions to my versatility and not constricting myself to one genre.
What can we expect from you before the end of 2022?
You can expect a lot more consistency with more music and music videos. I’ll be putting out more to keep the momentum and gain more exposure to have more fans along for the journey. I’ve been shown a lot of love on this EP and it’s genuinely just the beginning in the grand scheme of things. I’m going to give the people supporting a lot more content and music to enjoy!
